GRADING
PROCEDURE:
Each six weeks has been divided into two,
3 week periods. The first 3 week period will be reflected on the progress report, while the second 3 week period will be averaged
with the progress report grade to determine the six weeks final average.
Each student starts with a 100% at the
beginning of the 3 week period. Points are deducted from that average as follows:
- If
a student chooses not to dress out for PE, they will be docked four (4) points. They will still be expected to participate in class unless an appropriate note has
been submitted to the teacher.
- If
a student chooses to dress out, but does not participate, they will be docked two (2)
points.
- If
a student loses points two (2) days in a row, a parent/guardian will be contacted.
- Students
may be excused from participating by a note from the parent/guardian; however, a doctor’s note is required after two
(2) days or points will be docked. Students will still be expected to dress out
unless an injury prevents them from doing so. An alternate assignment may be
given.
- A
written unit test will be given at the end of every two (2) week unit. Tests
will account for 20% of the final six (6) weeks average.
