We are now taking all we have learned about nouns, verbs, and adjectives and beginning a writing project. Starting this week we will begin writing a scary story to share in October. It will be due on October 26th.

The students are expected to work on this over the next month. They will be given a 30minute class period three times per week to complete it. They will brainstorm ideas, write a rough draft, go through the editing process, type their final draft, and then draw illustrations and compile each page of their scary story book.

Because this project is their first major writing project, they will have numerous checkpoints throughout the writing process.
