Outstanding
Achievement Points
Music Awards are presented
at the end of the school year at the academic awards ceremony. All band students
receive a participation award and if a student earns enough points, they will get a special gold, silver or bronze seal on
their certificate that signifies they have earned Outstanding Achievement. Students
receiving the Outstanding Achievement Award will have their names in the Dysart and LaPorte City newspapers in May or June. Students
can also find the news article on the band website. I will try to give you an
update every six weeks so you can monitor your progress. Updated points will
be posted on the band board and the band website. The following is a list of
how you can earn points:
Lessons:
10 For each band lesson attended without being
called
5 For each band lesson attended even if called
100
For earning an E at the end of the trimester
50 If did not earn an E but earned 90% and above
10 For each memorized scale and arpeggio
100
For every 20 songs completed in lesson book
25 For each marching
band or concert band song
passed
Band:
100 For each performance
100 For each trimester of good participation and good
behavior in rehearsal

1050-1199 Bronze Award
1200-1349 Silver Award
1350-1500 Gold Award
