Welcome to my class!
Second grade is located in room 2A . We are located just down the hall from the office. We have two new students in our classroom. We now have seven boys and seven girls. We have a hamster named Lily and two of her babies. We also have a hermit crab named Nissan. Feel free to stop by and visit us!


Events and Announcements

School pictures will be retaken on Friday, November 7th. This can be done out of uniform .

Please join us for an all school Mass on Thursday, November 6th at 9:00 in the church. We also have a Unit A prayer service on Wednesday, November 26th at 9:00 in the gym.

Wednesday, November 12th is a 1:00 dismissal. There will be no buses for transportation home.

Friday, November 21st is a Community Day. Any Sacred Heart or Columbus t shirt or sweatshirt can be worn.

First Reconciliation will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22nd at 10:00 at Queen of Peace Church. Please practice the second grade version of the Act of Contrition with your child. This prayer is located on the back cover of your child's Reconciliation book. Hopefully we will have better weather than last year for this special day. Last years's celebration had to be postponed because of an ice storm. Please pray for good weather!

Book it reading goal is 300 minutes for November. Please be sure to log your reading minutes on the calendar located in your
 child's go home folder.

Thank you for your participation in your child's conference! It takes a team effort to educate children and your support is so important!

We are working on our Math Mastery daily timed tests. A practice sheet is sent home in your child's "go home" folder. Please be sure your child practices their facts from these sheets daily to ensure success.

New spelling lists are sent home on Fridays. Please practice these words. Spelling tests are on Fridays.

Please spend some time daily, reading to your child or having your child read to you. Students may also read by themselves. This time greatly supports your child's reading development and can be quality time spent with your child.

Temperatures are cooling off. Please make sure your child has a jacket for recess. Morning recess can be quite cold.
