Welcome to Mr. A's - PE class website. Here you will find the many activities that each Unit is involved in for the
month. PE at Sacred Heart School is fun, and challenging as we learn how important physical activity is in our daily life.
In Unit C we have completed our volleyball unit with an exciting afternoon of intramural
volleyball and again the 8th grade homeroom won both of their matches to again claim bragging rights. During the month of
December and early January, the students in Unit C will play a game called Tschoukball. It is a very fast moving game which
involves tossing a small ball at a toss-back net and trying to score points by making the ball bounce off the net and hit
the floor before it is caught by your opponent. The game is unique because one does not guard or play defense except to try
to catch the ball when it rebounds off the net before it hits the floor. Teams can score at either of two nets at opposite
ends of the court. The game is non stop and is a lot of fun to play and also watch. The 4th and 5th grade students in Unit
B will also work on throwing and catching skills and play a variation of Tschoukball too. The 3rd grade students and Unit
A will be involved using a variety of manipulatives. That is equipment we throw - catch - and balance.
