Hi, I'm Mr Amundson. I have been know as Mr. A for 37 years of teaching physical education and coaching at Sacred Heart
School. I attended St. Mary's Elementary School, and Columbus High School which are or were members of our Cedar Valley Catholic
School System. I received my teaching degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1971. Every summer I attend PE workshops
with other PE teachers to learn new games and how to present them to our students. I am also a high school sports official.
I referee football, basketball and umpire softball. Being a sports official keeps me active and in very good shape. One
of the great joys of my life is fishing as you can see below. I make an annual trip to Canada, have a trailer on the Mississippi
River and fish many streams in Northeast Iowa. I also teach my students about fishing and take them fishing in our Fish Iowa
Unit. I have a musical talent and play the keyboard and am the church organist at Sacred Heart. The best thing about teaching
PE is helping students develop their many physical and athletic skills as well as sportsmanship and just plain having fun
with our many activities.
