Use of Advisory Period

All students have a twenty minute study skills class at the end of the day. This is an excellent time for students to work on their homework. The amount of homework increases in eighth grade and students should have homework on most days. There is math homework every night. If they are finished with their homework, students may read a book of their choice. The language arts classes all require several book reports during the year and this would be a good time to work on that

The Importance of Homework and Notes

Students sometimes think that homework and notes are not very important since they are only 10% of the grade. This could not be further from the truth. Homework questions come from the notes. Quiz questions come from the homework. Test questions come from the quizzes.

Daily homework is probably the most important part of learning mathemtatics. That is why we have daily work. Math is learned best by doing rather than watching.

If you bring your notebook daily and take notes in class, you will receive an A for notes. Notes should be an easy A+ on your grade.
