Welcome!

Greetings from one of the eighth grade math and language arts teachers, Tricia Pearson. I want to thank you for giving me the unique opportunity to teach your child. I look forward to the upcoming school year and I will try my best to allow your child to have a positive, productive, and joyful experience. I'll tell you a little bit about myself on this page. I am married with two children who are currently attending college this year at ETSU. My husband, Marv, is a Cisco Engineer with General Dynamics. I have worked in various professions in the areas of social work, budget work, and real estate before becoming a teacher. I was born and raised in Albany, New York. My family moved to Maryville in 1994. We love this part of the country and would not want to live anywhere else. I have a Masters in Education from the University of Tennessee, as well as a Masters in Public Administration. I have been a teacher at EMS for the last six years. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, exercising, and spending time with my family. I truely enjoy teaching and look forward to working with my new students.

On this web site you will receive information on what we are working on throughout the year. During the first nine weeks of school, math class has been busy working on one-step and two-step equations, with rational numbers as well as integers. The next nine weeks, we will be working on solving proportions, geometry, comparing and ordering rational numbers. The Language Arts class is working on novel studies, reading workbooks, and grammar.
