Hello, please let me introduce myself. I'm Ali Oitker, the Western Junior High School Social Studies teacher.  This is the beginning of my 9 year in teaching.  

I grew up in Barry and graduated from Barry High School in 1995.  I attended Quincy University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. 

I have 2 brothers: Nathan and Coy.  4 Nieces: Paige, Haleigh, Skylar, and Emma.  2 Nephews: Brett, Logan, and Samuel. (Sam was born on Oct. 22,2007)  My husband Eric and I  have lived in Barry all our life.  We completed and moved into our new house in 2003.  My husband owns and operates Oitker Ford Sales in Barry and Pittsfield. We have an 12 year old of golden lab named Jake, and 3 cats: Kitty, Henry Ford, and George.  We LOVE watching Kansas Chiefs football.  Once football season starts we can be found every Sunday at home watching the game.  We are truly obsessed with the CHIEFS!

This summer we took an Oitker Family vacation to Table Rock Lake near Branson, Mo.  We have spent our weekends at the Mississippi River.  However, I have been working on new things for the school year!  The junior high school teachers will continue with the  Enhancing Education Through Technology grant.  We are also adding 6 new teachers with the grant, 2 at the junior high and 4 at the high school.
