A Must Read:

My "Wordle-d" version of Walt Whitman's Song of Myself, II:
Wordle
Who wrote it?

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying;
And this same flower that smiles today
Tomorrow will be dying.
The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,
The higher he's a-getting,
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he's to setting.
That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer;
But being spent, the worse, and worst
Times still succeed the former.
Then be not coy, but use your time,
And while ye may, go marry;
For having lost but once your prime,
You may forever tarry.
"To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time" --Robert Herrick

In the News

Shh...We're reading here!
Those of you in English III and IV will be participating in a silent reading program. You will be required to bring
a book with you to class; right now silent reading days will be every Tuesday and Wednesday. Our reading program will
be combined with a vocabulary program. Each week, you'll be required to present a vocabulary word from your reading
to the class.
New and improved presentation format!
Instead of our traditional presentations, we're going to mix it up. You will now be creating PowerPoint presentations
with your vocabulary words. The presentations will include the word, word analysis (see our regular vocabulary worksheet),
your sentence, a picture (memory aid), and, new this trimester, an analogy using your word. This will help your classmates
remember your word even better. More details will be given in class. The best presentation, as voted on by the
class, will be posted to this website each week. This will be a great way for us to incorporate these words into our
everyday speech!
