Mrs. Housing-Ware's 5th Grade Class

Who says that we don't pay attention??!!

When at home, students do remember what they've learned in school.  Just ask your child what the narrative elements are on an episode of Hannah Montana or Zack and Cody. They should be able to tell you what the setting, conflict and resolution is on any episode, as well as who the main and supporting characters are.

IF WE ARE ALLOWED TO WATCH TV AFTER SCHOOL, WE PROMISE WE WILL:

  • notice narrative elements when we read a book or watch TV .
  • pay attention to current events on the news
  • and try to figure out what the problem is.
  • notice all the different world locations mentioned on television programs.

There is a huge world around us!

LIFE BEYOND FIFTH GRADE

Earth Spinning
The world awaits

As a teacher I spend a lot of time talking to my class.  However ,it is also very important that they engage in conversation, discussion, or dialogue with me.  So I asked my students how they thought what they have been learning in  our 5th grade classsroom relates to the world outside and beyond 5th grade.
