Dear Families and Friends,
Our last day "Author's Tea" was wonderful! It was a goal I set for us and we worked hard to meet
it. Parents were happy and proud as they listened to their child read an original story. The children were very proud
to show their families what good readers and writers they have become. And of course, I enjoyed watching the children
shine! It was a great morning.
Now the summer begins...I will be at school most of this week packing the classroom. Then I will
take a few days to rest and relax with my family before finishing the packing. I am hopeful that I will hear from
some of my students over the summer months. I always enjoy hearing about the summer adventures of my young friends.
I will keep this site viable over the summer. So check back. Please use this site for good
sites to send your child to on the internet for fun games, skills practice, and activities.
Thanks for a great year!

Our Hopes and Dreams have been posted all year. I think all the children were successful
in meeting their goals. They should all be proud of their successes in first grade! I am!
The World According to Mr. Rogers
Another quote....
" All life events are formative. All contribute to what we become, year
by year, as we go on growing......the poet, Kenneth Koch once said, "You aren't just the age you are. You are all the ages
you ever have been!" Mr. Rogers.
The last day of school---do you remember it? I do. I was always sad to leave my teacher,
my friends, and my classroom. I wanted someone to walk out that door with me and tell me it was ok to have all those
feelings. I think this is why I always plan a way to have my students' parents come for our last day together.
It makes that transition just a little easier for us all.
