Summer School
Just
a reminder about summer school to those students who have been contacted and invited.
The program will run for three weeks, from July 7-25. Our summer school
students really do benefit from structured activities in math and reading over the summer.
If you have questions, contact the elementary office, and/or our summer school coordinator, Teri Klockner.
Summer Office Hours
The LPC
elementary building office will be open two weeks after school is out, from 7:30 – 2:30 pm. The secretaries and I will be in the office until June 20. The
superintendent’s central office at the high school will be open all summer long.
The secretaries and I will start back to school August 4.
2008-2009 School Year
Registration for
the new school year will be Monday and Tuesday August 11 and 12 from 1:00-7:00 pm on both days. All students need to register on one of those two days. We
will begin the year with an open house on Tuesday, August 19 from 6:00-7:00 pm. A
special kindergarten parent meeting will be held in each of the kindergarten teacher’s rooms from 6:30-7:00. We will begin school on Wednesday, August 20 for all students.

ANOTHER SUPER YEAR AT LPC ELEMENTARY!!!
As I reflect on my third year here in the Union Community School District and the La Porte
City Elementary, I think of the many wonderful opportunities that I have had. These
past three years have given me great experiences in learning the past traditions and rituals of our school district and community. I continually look for ways to make our building better to meet the individual needs
of all of our students. This can be only done with the input of our teachers, parents, students, and community members. I look forward to continuing to build strong working relationships with all of you. The future is bright for our students, elementary building, school district, and community. I am proud to be a Union Knight! I can’t
wait to start the fourth year of our educational journey together. Have a great
summer!!!
