Parents, children this age need to see and hear you
read. When your child comes home with their reader or a library book, it is alright to read with them. Some fun
ways to do this would be to read a page first and have them reread it after you. You can take turns reading the pages or on
long pages take turns with paragraphs.
Having a family read time when the TV is turned off
and everyone reads is setting a great example!
Sitting and reading the paper is something that your child will pick up as a
lifetime habit.
Nothing is as important as reading and you can be a great
influence on your child.
We all know that math is also a very important part of our learning.
Our students need to be learnilng the addition and subtraction facts to 20 this year. We like to see them know ways
to get the answers to problems in a variety of ways.
