It is important for parents to realize that they are the foundation for their child's success not only at Saint Joseph
School, but for the rest of their life. We teach each and every student about respect, and we believe
that in turn, children will learn to respect themselves as well as others.
My philosophy for teaching is ... Teach a child what to learn and you make them a slave to all knowledge. Teach
a child how to learn and you make all knowledge their slave.
Not all children learn at the same pace. I review information I have previously taught. Children also learn
differently. I teach to children who learn by hearing or by verbally stating concepts. I also teach to the students
who are visual learners by either writing information on the white boards, and also by having the children take turns
reading from the text.
Children must be taught at an early age to listen. This skill is extremely vital. In order for a student to learn they
must be taught to listen. I teach my students how to listen. Along with listening, I also teach my students how to write
notes. This is a life-long skill. I guide students as to what to write, or I may simply state that a fact/concept
is a main idea.
When my students take a test, they are required to write on the top of their test who they studied with, how long they
studied.
If you have questions or comments regarding your child, please do not hesitate to contact me by leaving a message with

I care about each and every one of my students and I believe they can all be a bigger success!!!!!
