Dear Parents,
The school year is flying along at a very rapid pace...we are almost thre-fourths of the way through.
Our class is growing by leaps and bounds; we now have 8 4th graders and 12 5th graders; a grand total of 20 students.
Space -wise we're pretty crowded, but we're learning to adjust. We have begun to use our SmartBoard, which is really fascinating.
The 5 new computers were installed over Christmas break making it much easier for all students to get a chance
to use a computer. Having all new computers doesn't mean we won't be working with "pencil and paper" any longer;
pencils are still a very necessary tool for all students to have. Please remind your student that he/she should have at least
3 pencils at school everyday. We have been working very hard to get ready for the ISAT tests which are next month.
Math has been especially fun for everyone learning about lines, rays, angles, and different types of triangles. These skills
are imporatnt and fun, right along with addition and subtraction. Please help your student review simple addition and
subtraction problems every day. Thanks for all of your help!
Sincerely,
Mrs.Unterfranz
Events and Announcements Updated Feb. 20.2008
About two more weeks and we will be undertaking the ISAT tests. We will be testing every morning beginning
March 4 until March 13. Please encourage your child to get a good night's sleep and to eat a good healthy breakfast before
school.Try to keep the evenings as stree-free as possible for them so that they can stay focused on the tests. We have
covered quite a bit of information in the past several months and now is the time for them to "show off" all of their new
knowledge.
Spring break begins at 11:50 on Thursday, Marcg 20, 2008.
School begins again on Monday, March 31,2008at 8:15 am. Have a safe, warm, and happy holiday.

Meet the Challenge!

Arthur Purtty was selected as Student of the Month for the
month of January. The character trait was Courtesy. Arthur always has a kind word for everyone, a smile
on his face, and please and thank you are three words that are always part of his conversations. He has often been seen opening
or holding a door for his peers, myself, or other teachers. He is very deserving of the title of VERY COURTEOUS STUDENT!
Congratulations, Arthur!
