Welcome!

Welcome to my web site. I have been a teacher at St Joe's for over 15 years and feel privileged to continue my career as a staff member for Calvert Catholic Schools. My husband Bob teaches at Calvert and I have two daughters: Amanda is married and lives in Pittsburgh, and Elizabeth is a graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh. We have two dogs to keep us company and one of my favorite activities is taking them on walks. I also enjoy scuba diving, gardening, riding bikes and reading.

The students at both St. Mary's and St. Joseph's campus have adapted quickly to the new configuration of Calvert Catholic Schools and I love that I'm teaching K to 8. In Kindergarten the children have been practicing basic motor skills and manipulating various types of balls and other equipment. Grades 1 and 2 have reviewed motor skills and explored variations in force with soccer. The students in third grade worked in small groups developing cooperative skills with hoola hoop routines, while fourth graders demonstrated complex combinations of motor skills with soccer. Fifth and sixth grade students learned to distinguish between compliance and noncompliance in game rules with flag football. Lacrosse was taught in junior high classes with students demonstrating competence in complex physical activity.
