THE WORLD HAS MANY DIFFERENT ENVIROMENTS. LETS LEARN MORE ABOUT THEM IN GEOGRAPHY.

Hey boys and girls !!!! My name is Coach Jones and I LOVE to teach Geography !!! We will be learning many things about different places and the cultural diversity that is imperative in today's world. We will also take a systematic overview of today's goverment, civics and economics. Geography is a subject that has many different avenues to explore and I hope that we can discover many new things that you did not know before. One thing you do need to know about my class. I do not give alot of HOMEWORK, but in return, YOU MUST COME TO MY CLASS PREPARED TO FOLLOW MY RULES AND WORK !!!!!!

. *SOCIAL STUDIES PROJECTS*

THE PROJECT SHOULD CONSIST OF:

1. VISUAL (PICTURES, MODEL, ARTIFACTS, ETC.)

2. WRITTEN REPORT (1-3 PAGES) DOES NOT HAVE TO BE TYPED, BUT HIGHLY ENCOURAGED. RESOURCES NEED TO BE LISTED AT END OF REPORT. (NO PLAGERISM)

3. DISPLAY BOARD (HIGHLY ENCOURAGED) WE HAVE THEM AT OUR LIBRARY FOR FOUR DOLLARS. WAL-MART AND TARGET ALSO CARRY THEM.

4. SUBJECT CAN BE ON ANYTHING IN THE GEOGRAPHY BOOK. (ALSO REQUEST NEED TO BE APPROVED BY COACH JONES) JUDGES WILL BE LOOKING FOR SUBJECTS ON WORLD GEOGRAPHY/TN. HISTORY FOR ADVANCEMENT TO COUNTY FAIR.

WE HAVE DISCUSSED THE SOCIAL STUDIES FAIR FOR SOME TIME NOW AND EACH STUDENT SHOULD BE READY FOR THIS. EACH STUDENT SHOULD WRITE THEIR NAME ON THE BACK OF THE DISPLAY BOARD AND PLACE THE WRITTEN REPORT ON THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF THE DISPLAY. STUDENTS WILL BE ASSIGNED A NUMBER TO IDENTIFY THEIR WORK. THE STUDENTS MAY ALSO BE ASKED TO DISCUSS THEIR PROJECT WITH THE JUDGES. STUDENTS MUST TAKE THEIR DISPLAY BOARD AND REPORTS HOME AT THE END OF THE DAY. I WILL ISSUE AN INDEX CARD THE DAY BEFORE TO WRITE THEIR STUDENT NUMBER ON AND PAPER CLIP IT TO THEIR DISPLAY BOARD. WE HAVE HAD A TRADITION OF COUNTY WINNERS EACH YEAR , SO LETS KEEP IT GOING. Be respectful to your fellow classmates. I will not put up with any teasing, bullying or making other students feel bad. Be prepared for the Hammer to come down hard if you are caught doing any of these things.

In the News : The 2006 Eagleton Football Team has set new standards for teams to come in breaking a 21 year string of losing seasons. This year team went 4 - 4 which qualified them into the TSSMA CLASS AA PLAY-OFFS. Congratulations to these guys in their hard work to be the best !
