Welcome to Mrs. Koontz Language Arts class where reading can be fun!

 

Language Arts is a combination of what used to be two seperate subjects, Reading and English.  Since the two subjects are so interconnected they are now taught and learned together.  In class we do reading, writing, and grammer.  However, through reading and writing we also become learners in Science, Math, and Social Studies. 

 

In sixth grade Language Arts we read a variety of short stories and poems, both fiction and non-fiction.  We also read chapter books throughout the year which genereate a learning project each grading period.  Most of the projects are fun but each student has his or her favorite.  Ask your students what project they are working on this nine weeks, and when they are completed we will publish some of them on the web site.
