Welcome to my class!

My name is Ms. Reed and I am your child's fifth grade teacher. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and having a very successful school year with your child. I hope to be able to work with you throughout the school year to make it very enjoyable and productive.

I will encourage each child to be the best student possible. I am enthusiastic and motivated to assist each child to strive to work at their highest level of ability. I have no doubt that we can make this a successful year for your child.

Your child will be introduced to a significant amount of new material. We will practice in school and do many activities to ensure that the students are grasping each concept. Practicing at school will not be enough! Students will also need to practice at home to reinforce what is being taught in class.

I am here to work with you and to do my part to ensure that your child has a successful fifth grade year. Communication between the child, parent/guardian, and the teacher increases the probability of academic success. I hope to meet each of you soon. Welcome to the fifth grade!

Get Ready! Get Ready!

Our Science Class in November will start to study space. We will explore space, space crafts, and various comets. The skills we are going to perfect will be: problem solving, communication, math ,technology, and critical thinking. So all you astronaunts, lets get ready to rendezvous with a comet!

We are half way through the first quarter, so don't forget to read your AR Books. Our AR Points will be calculated into our Language Arts Grade (5%). You must have 20 points to receive a fun pack. All students who receive 100% on their AR Points will get a coupon to go in the box for assembly prizes. So read, read, read!
