ALPS Parents' Group |
|
|
McKinney ISD is fortunate to have a dedicated,
enthusiastic parents' advocacy group for gifted and talented students! The
combined efforts of ALPS and the McKinney ISD staff are helping the ALPHA
program continue to move forward to meet the the needs of these students.
MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of ALPS is to support the MISD gifted and talented prgram;
to provide a chain of communication between ALPS, the community, the schools,
and the Board of Education; and to create expanded opportunities for gifted
students in MISD.
MEMBERSHIP:
Membership in ALPS is open to all persons interested in the mission of
the organization.
MEETINGS:
General meetings of ALPS will be held regularly throughout the school
year, which begins in August. All parents of ALPHA students will be notified
of the meeting dates and times. The meetings will be advertised on Channel
17 and in the local newspaper.
Informational programs are scheduled throughout the school year so
that all parents can be better informed about the needs of gifted and
talented children, parenting these children, and about the ALPHA program at
the different levels within M.I.S.D.
You are encouraged to contact ALPS about their programming and
membership.
