Math Team will be meeting this week to practice on Monday and Tuesday after school. We only have two weeks until
the regional competition and so each practice is very important. The regional is on Saturday, the 21st of February.
Anyone
who is interested in joining the Math Team should see Sr. Hall or Ms. Schaab to find out more information. In our first
year, we sent a team and two individuals to state and also finished a close fourth in our conference. Last season, the
team qualified for state in Algebra I, two team tests, and Geometry.

In the News
Each week, we will have a question dealing with Spanish and the rest of the world in the news. When you know an answer,
e-mail me your choice and I will draw a winner from the correct answers each week.
This past weekend, the Professional
Golf Association (PGA) played a tournament in St. Louis. What player won the tournament, and what Spanish-speaking country
is he from?

This Week
We are finishing up our introduction to Spanish, working on the building blocks of language: basic words, letters, numbers,
and greetings. If you had to start from the very beginning teaching someone English, what would you think would be the most
important things to learn? Where would you start?
