A class web site can be a creative way of getting students excited about a subject, keeping them up to date on assignments, and providing them with valuable online resources.

If you have any old magazines at home that you would like to get rid of, I am in need of any magazines that would have articles about food. I would especially like to have some restaurant reviews and menus. You can send any magazines with your students. Thanks!

In the News

Here I might mention a story in the news that pertains to my subject and solicit opinions from the class. Or I might ask a question about material we covered in class.

Please check in with your student about AR goals and points. Students can get points for AR even if they do not read an AR book. They need to write one paragraph summarizing their book and another which reviews it, and I will give them AR credit.

Please encourage your student to read as much as possible at home! Pick a book you would both like to read, or that you can read as a family.
