Kindergarten Week of November 10th
Religion – Chapter 12 “Choosing is Good” pages 47-51. We skipped chapter 11 for now, because
it is about Christmas. They took home a pinwheel this week on saying “YES” to God. They worked hard on saying
yes to good choices and no to bad ones.
Reading & Phonics – They reviewed shapes went over story details and worked more on short a. They also
were introduced to a new sight word this week “is” and they worked on the letter Mm.
Math – They wrote to 100 with a pattern on Monday –Thursday and on Friday they wrote as high as they
could trying to remember the pattern taught to them.
Language – Nouns name people, animals, and things.
Science – How do animals protect themselves and what are animals covered with; fur, hair, scales…
Centers – In reading groups we worked on blends, letter Mm, and
they took turns reading books to each other. In Math group they worked on the number 7.
P.E- Soccer
Library- They read a story together and checked out new books.
Art – Turkeys with watercolor, paint, and lots of cutting and glue.
Music – They sang a Thanksgiving song and started working on the Christmas pageant.
Computers – They got to choose between highlights and dance mat
typing.
