What if...

...a research and development facility was built in the Cook Inlet to experiment with renewable energies. Fossil fuels contribute to major global concerns today, not only worldwide but even here on the Peninsula.

My Idea...

Platform Dillon is being shut-in, along with another platform Baker, due to not being able to produce enough oil to sufficiently run them. Both are two of Unocal’s ten platforms in the Middle Ground Shoal of the Cook Inlet. My idea is to convert platform Dillon into a Research and Development Facility with Renewable Energy Sources.

What Money...?

It will cost millons of dollars to remove the platforms since they cannot stay in the inlet if not in use. Why not use this money and invest it toward our future and the future of our environment here on the Kenai Peninsula?
