HI EVERYONE, FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT DON'T KNOW ME WELL, I'LL INTRODUCE MYSELF. I HAVE BEEN A TEACHER AT ST. MARY SCHOOL FOR THE PAST 18 YEARS. I TAUGHT PRESCHOOL FOR 6 YEARS, 1ST FOR AND 2ND FOR THE PAST NINE. I HAVE ALSO TAUGHT HIGH SCHOOL SOCIAL STUDIES AT COLUMBIAN HIGH SCHOOL AND IN HOUSTON, TEXAS. I GREW UP IN FREMONT WHERE I GRADUATED FROM ROSS HIGH SCHOOL. I THEN GRADUATED FROM THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY IN 1980 AND EARNED MY MASTERS FROM HEIDELBERG COLLEGE IN 2000. MY HUSBAND TOM IS A ST. MARY AND CALVERT ALUMNI AND TOGETHER WE HAVE TWO DAUGHTERS, AMANDA - A SENIOR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI, AND LAURA A SOPHOMORE AT THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY. WE ALSO HAVE A CAT ARCHIE WHO KEEPS US COMPANY IN OUR "EMPTY NEST". I LOVE TO READ,SHOP, COLLECT TEDDY BEARS AND ANTIQUES. TOM AND I LOVE TO TRAVEL AND HAVE LIVED IN MIDLAND AND HOUSTON, TEXAS AND VINCENNES, INDIANA WHERE MARATHON OIL TRANSFERRED US. I LOVE TEACHING 2ND GRADE AND AM LOOKING FORWARD TO AN EXCITING YEAR.

   Pirate Day

Thanks to all of you who took the time out of your busy schedules for our Pirate Day field trip.  We had a great time and hope to invite St. Ann’s  2nd grade to visit us in the near future.

Halloween

 

We will celebrate Halloween on the 31st at 2:15 in the classroom.  Your children may dress up in appropriate attire.  This does not include gory or costumes that would imply inappropriate conduct.  It is for fun and in celebration of the harvest.

 

 

 

All Saints Day:

Mass will begin our day at 8:30 in celebration of all of those who went before us and served our Faith to the betterment of all.

 

ALL ABOUT ME:

Each week I will send a form home with a different student for an “All About Me”  sharing day.  They can bring something to show and be prepared to answer questions about themselves.  They may bring a pet or special person if I am informed and it is approved by the office in advance.  Questions?  Let me know as your child’s assigned time approaches.

Book Fair

Please try to send a limited amount of money or the exact selection(s) your child would like.  More than one choice would be desirable, as at times there are only a few copies of the book and it is not always available.

 

Our Classroom:

Our next trip will be Bread Day at the Tiffin Bake Shop Bakery.  It is tentatively scheduled for Friday Nov.17.

We will need drivers and chaperones.  Thanks.
