Local Scholarships

ELKS NURSING SCHOLARSHIP  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

Van Wert County Homemakers & Community Ed. Council  A $200 scholarship is available.  No specific requirements besides planning to attend college in the fall.  You can access an application at http://vanwert.osu.edu or you can pick one up in the guidance office.  DEADLINE: JULY 3.

Future Medical Students  The Medical Foundation of the Academy of Medicine of Lima and Allen County is offering student loans to worthy and qualified medical students without regard to sex, race, color, creed or national origin.  All monies are given as loans.  Upon completion of residency, if the physician practices in Allen County, the loas is rep interest, However, if the physician does not practice in the Lima area, an interest fee is attached and is cumulative throughout the loan period and residency.  If you plan to go to medical school keep this association in mind for future reference.  Address is:  730 W. Scholarships for Young Entrepreneurs You must be a senior, apply to attend a four year college or university within the US.  Own or operate a business for at least 1 year and have at least one paid employee.  Go to http://www.mckelveyfoundation.org for more information or come to the guidance office.

GREAT SEARCH ENGINES

AFSA Scholarship Contest  Open to seniors in the US who plan to further their educaiton at a college/university or trade school.  Not based on financial need.  Relatives of AFSA staff or board members may not enter. You will read a 3000 word essay about fire sprinklers and take a ten-question multiple choice test.  For each question answered correctly you will receive one entry into a drawing for one of ten $2,000 scholarships.  Go to http://www.afsascholarship.org
