Learn how to use Microsoft PowerPoint to create a 9 slide presentation
about Native Americans.
2.
Learn about Native American tribes and how their geographical region/environment
affects their culture.
3.
Build vocabularies by working with new and unknown words that you come
across in your research.
4.
Work cooperatively in small
groups, share information with others throughout discussions.
5. Access and gather information from Internet web sites about Native Americans.
Introduction:
Your
group is on a virtual mission to learn more about the Native American culture! Your group’s first decision will be choosing
one of the regions of the U.S. where Natives inhabit. They include Southwest, Northwest Coastal, Inuit, Eastern Woodlands,
Plains, and California. Next, your group will pack your bags because you will be spending a month with an Indian tribe in
the area you are going to study! When you reach your intended area you will be introduced to the chief of the tribe and he
will show you around the Indian village. He will take you to where you are staying so that you can leave your bags, but don’t
forget to bring along your pencil, paper, and camera because the chief is going to show you around the village and introduce
you to the other villagers! Throughout the month, you will be submersed in the Indian culture and take part in your villages’
activities! Be sure to take notes and pictures because when you return to school, your group will be creating a PowerPoint
slide show, to show our community what the culture of the Indians that you spent a month with was like!!
