Lincoln's Mission Statement

Everyone has a passion and mine is the love of teaching.  I believe all children need to understand how important and powerful education can be.  I want to help my students discover their passion through learning in my classroom.  My students will feel loved and safe in my classroom.  Being able to teach is a gift which I will use to my fullest potential.

It is my strongest belief that education is essential for children to be productive members of our society.  My goals for my students are for each student to value their education and know the powers that come with a higher education.  I firmly believe all children will learn at their level and my hopes would be to further their skills as the year progresses.  I want to make sure that all students can achieve when they are given praise, practice, and positive modeling.  My community of learners is engaged in activities that challenge and question their abilities.  I want to expose them to the endless possibilities in education and guide them to make a difference in this world.

As an educator, my role is important to each of my students. I actively seek to create a student-centered classroom where students participate in directing their objectives, and I act as a guide, working side-by-side with my students. I also try to integrate several different methods in my classroom that accommodate my students' various learning styles.  It is important that I establish clear expectations for my students.  I will be consistent with rules and consequences.  I will model what is expected in the classroom and throughout the school.  I will create instructional plans that focus on individual’s strengths and weaknesses.  I will be flexible and embrace the “teachable” moments.  I feel that students learn best through real-world experiences which are meaningful to them.  Students will learn to work together as a team.  Students need to be active in their learning and know the purpose for what they are learning.  My ultimate goal is to create lifelong learners.
