Greetings from one of the sixth grade teachers, Mrs. Parsley. I want to thank you for giving me the unique opportunity
to teach your child. I take that responsibility very seriously, and I pledge to you that I will try to make your child's
learning experiences exciting and productive. This is going to be one of the most important years in your child's
educational experience. I am looking forward to working with you to create an extraordinary year for you child.
It is important to me that you gain a sense of who I am personally. So, I wanted to tell you some information
about myself. I was born in Biloxi, Mississippi. I am the oldest of three children. Most of my childhood
was spent in a small town in West Alabama called Aliceville. I graduated from the University of Alabama in
1991. After college, I moved to Montgomery, Alabama and taught fourth grade for two years. I moved to Blount
County in 1994. Since that time, I have been a teacher at Eagleton Middle School. I taught eighth grade for seven
years prior to moving to sixth grade in 2002. Also, during my 14 year career at Eagleton, I went back to graduate school
and received a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University. My husband is Russell Parsley.
We have four children, one girl and three boys. Sarah is the oldest at 11. She is in sixth grade at Maryville
Intermediate School. Will is next at 10. He is a fifth grader at Maryville Intemediate School. Jack and
Reed, the twins, are 6. They are in transition first at Foothills Elementary. I am an avid college football fan
(cheering loudest for my beloved Crimson Tide). In my spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, watching movies,
and spending time with my family.
