The proverb "Give a man a fish; you have fed
him for the day. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime" embodies the scope and benefit of Marissa's
Industrial Technology program. Simply giving a person something to temporarily satisfy a need accomplishes very little.
Taking time, however, to equip a person with the skills to discover and communicate his or her unique worth, abilities
and dreams can benefit an entire community.
Construction One is designed to introduce the student to the basics of construction,
tools, safety, print reading and team building.
Production Technology explores humanities technological past, present and future,
and encourages students to imagine, overcome and create with the assistance of technology.
Communication Technology challenges students to effectively communicate and consider
alternative perspectives. Skill mastery is evidenced by presenting a historical event's opposing arguments through a
multi-media research presentation.
Advanced Construction brings everything together by offering students challenging
real-world, hands-on problems, the necessity to work and communicate as a team, and the satisfaction of giving back to
the community.
