In my class students are expected to listen intently during class instruction.
They are also required to do homework each night, with the exception of Friday ( no homework will be assigned on
Fridays). Homework usually consists of language arts or grammar of some kind or sometimes newspaper activities.
Assignments are given out during class and students usually Have 10-to 15 minutes to work on assignments at their desk.
All assignments are written down in the planner each day, and I initial them to ensure that each student is aware of what
is due when. Students are expected to keep assignments turned in promptly as I will not have time during the class to
remind each students if he/she is missing an assignment. I also keep a chart of assignments and each
student receives a sticker for an assignment turned in on time. If the assignment is turned in late, it is noted with
an " L" over the sticker. Late work is expected to be turned in during the week it is due, with the exception
of illnesses or other excused absenses. If a student is absent, it their responsibility to acquire the make-up work
from the teacher. This may be done on teacher planning time or before or after class time. Students who have turned
in all required work are rewarded with free time, concessions, or a special priviledge
at the end of every three week grading period.
